Having rebuilt my content management system, Scribe CMS, on the ATProto network, I decided to give one of the blogging platform sites that I integrated it into a redesign. Previously NoRobots.blog was very text-centric; there were no images on the Homepage or Article Category pages and there were no Tag pages at all.
The only images on the site were those embedded into the articles themselves however one of the features of Scribe is that each article has a "hero" splash image associated with it. This was included as it is part of the atproto site.standard lexicon that Scribe CMS adheres to, so that when articles are syndicated via aggregators (such as leaflet.pub, standard-reader.app and reader.scribe-atp.app) there is an associated image available to accompany the title, author, dates and other standardised information.
Also included as part of the redesign is a new feature: Tag Pages. All articles can have optional tags associated with them, these are single or multiple word tags the author can add to indicate topics or content ("Photography", "History", "Travel" to give some real-world examples). When viewing a Tag Page, all articles are grouped by the associated tag - another new addition brought about via adherence to site.standard.
Having reworked the ArticleTiles component into three variants to include their splash images and then arranging them in their various forms (1/2/3-column variants) on the Homepage, Group pages and new Tag Pages, there is now a lot more colour and vibrancy about the site.
